Why does the location of your senior pictures matter
When planning your high school senior pictures or graduate photo session, one of the biggest decisions is your photo location. Your location plays a huge role in the final look of your images and it’s one more way to tell the story about who you are.
Senior pictures are all about capturing this exciting time in your life. You’ve got big hopes and dreams for your future. You’re planning your path to independence. At the same time, you’re reminiscing about your high school memories and savoring these last days of carefree fun with your friends.
Your senior photos should help you and your loved ones remember not just what you look like now, but what you’ve accomplished so far, what you’re passionate about, who you are and what you hope to become. There is so much growth ahead of you, and you’ll want to look back at this time and remember! Let’s plan a session that will bring you back to these days every time you look at a them.

Bring your own location ideas or tap into my extensive list
Many teens have been planning their senior pictures for years and know just what they want. If this is you, you’ve probably already selected a location. Or maybe you’ve narrowed down the type of spot you want, but would like recommendations on an exact location. I would love to help you bring your vision to life! I can provide input to your location ideas and help you find the best spots wherever we decide to photograph your session.
No matter where you start from; with lots of ideas and super excited to not exactly thrilled about it and everywhere in between. I know we can work out a plan for a fantastic photo session and maybe even exceed your expectations from the relaxing and fun photo session itself to your final photos showcasing who you are.

How do we select a photo location?
When talking about a photo location, we look to your interests and personality. For example, where you like to spend your time. Is there a place that’s special to you or best represents what you’re into? A sports field, an art gallery, a garden or park… there’s no limits to the ways we might creatively express your personality. If your can’t think of specific places, then we discuss your likes, and hobbies. What appeals to you and jives with your personal style.

Do you love nature and parks? Is there a favorite coffee shop where you study or hang with friends? Do you play a sport or instrument? Participate in clubs or groups? Consider your career aspirations. What’s your favorite season of the year? All these are clues to the perfect location for your senior or graduation photos.
To help you, I’ve also got a long list of picturesque locations in the Central PA area; Harrisburg, Hershey, Hummelstown, Lancaster, Lebanon… Sometimes it just comes down to what looks good to you or goes well with the clothing you plan to wear.
When you schedule your planning meeting with me, I’ll share my location guide which has links to online photo albums showing the work I’ve done at each of those locations in the past. This guide will give you an idea of what photos there can look like.

Select two locations for your senior pictures
You aren’t limited to one location. If you go with my Premium Session, you can split your time between two locations. This will give your final photo gallery some fun variety. We can select two spots within a short drive of each other or split your time into two shorter sessions. I’m happy to drive up to 30 minutes to shoot your deluxe or premium photo session. If you’re interested in a farther destination, I’d love to plan that with you as well. Some additional charges will apply for the additional time and travel expenses.

Now that you have a location or two in mind, you need to think about your wardrobe! I can help with that too. See my post about what to wear for your senior photos!
