Hey there, I'm Lisa!

Why does the location of your senior pictures matter

Choosing a location for your senior photos can feel overwhelming. There are so many options and these portraits are going to be around for a long time, so they need to be amazing. Senior pictures are all about celebrating you and what you’ve accomplished, and the memories you’ve made on your way to this milestone! Let me help you pick a photo location that helps us create the kind of images you’ll be so proud to share.

Your senior photo location is going to set the mood for your images through color, texture, lighting, and theme. It will influence what you wear. It should be consistent with who you are and what you love. I enjoy walking my High School Seniors through this decision and many others at their planning meeting prior to their photo session.

Sofia’s session was photographed in a field of weeds but it totally worked for her. She loved her photos and the book we created!

A college campus and a state park with a lake worked out perfect for Austin’s session. Can I just say that I love the flanel and western hat?!

Bring your own location ideas or tap into my extensive list

Many teens have been planning their senior pictures for years and know exactly what they want. Some have narrowed down the type of spot they want, but want help getting to a specific location.

No matter where you start; from knowing exactly what you want, to not even sure where to start, I know we can work out a plan for a fantastic photo session. You don’t have to figure out a location on your own. I’m here to help you get amazing photos – the way you’ve always envisioned them.

A flower farm was perfect for Cailin. The flowers and greenhouse looked beautiful with her pink dress while the vintage truck added charm and was perfect with her casual outfit.

How do we select a photo location?

If you’re looking for help finding a great location for your senior photos, we’ll start with your interests and personality. Where you like to spend your time? What are your hobbies and interests? Does this spark any ideas for you? A sports field, an art gallery, a garden, park or theater? There’s no limits to the ways we might creatively express your personality.

Do you love nature or prefer the city? Do you play a sport or instrument? Consider your career aspirations. What’s your favorite season of the year? Is there anything specific you were planning to wear for your photos. All these questions can help you begin to visualize your senior photos and sort out the type of location that will work best.

Emily was all about the grunge and urban vibe.

Once we narrow it down a bit, I can offer some ideas from my long list of locations in the Central PA area; Harrisburg, Hershey, Hummelstown, Lancaster, Lebanon… that I’ve used in the past, and others I’ve been wanting to try. I’ll bring photo albums to your planning meeting so you can take a look at some popular locations, but you aren’t limited to these. I love to find new spots and ways for each senior session to look unique!

This park had so much nostalgia for Emersyn as she visited it often as a kid.

Select two locations for your senior pictures

The best part is, you aren’t limited to one location. Many families have chosen my Premium Session, because it allows you to split your time between two locations. This gives your final photo gallery some fun variety. We can select two spots within a short drive of each other or do two shorter sessions on different dates. I’m happy to drive up to 30 minutes to shoot your basic or deluxe photo session. If you’re interested in a further destination, you’ll want to book my premium session.

Now that you have a location (or two) in mind, you’ll want to plan your outfits! I can help with that too. See my post about what to wear for your senior photos!

I’d love to talk about planning your senior photos. Reach out through my contact form or schedule a call with me to get more information!
