I often hear requests to include family, friends and pets in senior photo sessions. Families like to include extended family or their fur-babies in sessions. I want to capture what matters to you, so let’s talk about how we can best include your loved ones.
Include a family picture with your senior photos
Senior photos is a great time to grab a fresh new family photo or a picture with your siblings before you head off to school. The way I like to handle this is to plan 10-15 minutes either at the beginning or end of your session to capture just a few frames. That way, if you’d rather not have a large audience for your photo session, we can avoid that. We don’t have to tie up everyone’s schedule for the entire session.
Include your best friend(s) in your senior session
Your friends are such a huge part of your high school career. They’ve been there for you through all the ups and downs and you can’t imagine life without them. All your best memories include them! So why not have your very best friends in your senior photo session?
Like a family photo, we can plan about 15 minutes either at the beginning or end of your session to capture some fun images you and one or two best friends together.
I also offer specialty sessions to capture friendships. These are 90% documentary-style photographs. The session is designed to capture your special bond in places your group would typically hang out. These sessions include a keepsake photo book for each person, filled with special quotes and memories from each friend. I call them my Sentiments Sessions and you can check them out over here if you’re interested.
Include your pet in family photo or senior pictures
Our pets are part of the family, and I am completely on board with including them in your photo session! There are a few things we can do to make this go smoothly:
- I’ll need to know you’ll be bringing your pet
- We’ll have to make sure our location is pet-friendly
- Keep you fur-baby leashed at all times
- Come prepared to clean up any messes
- Bring someone along to handle your pup or take them home when they are done with photos
So I think it’s a great idea to include family, friends and pets in your photos and i’d love to help you do that! Let me know about your “extras” so I can plan accordingly!
