The Coates family needed photos for their 2019 Christmas card, some gift prints for family to update their picture frames at home and the office. Rebecca and I know each other from work and she asked if I would do the honors, so we met on lunch break to talk about it.
I hadn’t met Josh, Quentin or Micayla yet and I like to know a little about who I’ll be working with before the session happens. I asked her about her family, their personalities and how they feel about being photographed. The conversation gave me a bit of insight into who they were together and helped me feel well prepared to capture something I was sure they would love.
Rebecca and Josh thought the walking trail in her neighborhood would make a nice setting for their family photos and she took me to check it out over lunch on a different day. I agreed that they had found a beautiful spot to capture their family. I was feeling really good about our plans for their photo session and Rebecca was excited as well.
Our date was a beautiful October day and we chose a time late in the afternoon in hopes of catching the sun low in the sky while allowing enough time to get our shots in before sundown. Rebecca had coordinated her family perfectly for their surroundings with shades of Blue and Rust. They were all looking fantastic and ready to roll, taking my instructions in stride and laughing through the whole thing. Rebecca’s energy level is truly contagious.
Getting in some silly shots between the posed ones was easy with this bunch! Everyone was relaxed and obviously enjoyed just being together. It’s no wonder. These guys have plenty to smile about – they are truly beautiful together. I’m thankful that I could be the one to capture this little snapshot in time for them!
What a lovely shoot! I really appreciate the care you put into capturing perfect moments for each person.
